Jacques Loussier Trio

Composer
Beethoven
Released
2003
Label
Telarc
Forces

Personnel
Jacques Loussier, Benoît Dunoyer de Segonzac, André Arpino

The Allegretto had stayed with Loussier since he first learnt it, and he chose its stark theme as the basis for ten new variations.

The seventh briefly brings in Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, one of several ways the trio lets the composer’s other music leak into the sequence.
