Dr. Kok keeps Borodin’s complete suite intact rather than extracting only the Nocturne, its best-known movement.
The alternate take at the end also reveals that the jazz element lies in performance as much as arrangement: the same source produces a genuinely different result on a second pass.
Hear both
The classical side contains only the source pieces used on the album, in album order. The jazz side presents the complete album whenever a dependable copy can be embedded.
One complete performance of Borodin’s Petite Suite represents the album, which follows all seven movements in order and then returns to the Nocturne for an alternate take.
