Levity preserve the order of Chopin’s 24 Preludes, but little else stays settled. Chopin Shuffle spreads the cycle across two discs, giving every prelude a new title and passing the music through the trio’s mixture of jazz, electronics, improvisation and punk energy.

Jacek Kita, Piotr Domagalski and Jerzy Rogiewicz are joined by guests including electric trumpeter Toshinori Kondo, singer Gaba Kulka and guitarist Raphael Rogiński. Chopin’s themes may remain recognisable or shrink to fragments inside the new pieces, but the original sequence still provides the album’s underlying shape.
