Classic Meets Jazz
- Released
- 2018
- Label
- JINUROCK Entertainment
- Forces
- Piano, Trio
- Personnel
- Kazumi Tateishi, Shinobu Sato and Mao Suzuki
Tateishi is best known outside Japan for his trio’s jazz versions of Studio Ghibli music, but this record applies the same melodic clarity to the standard classical canon.
The arrangements favour concise, song-like statements, which makes even Finlandia and Swan Lake feel at home beside Satie and Elgar.
