On Play Bach No. 4, Loussier doubles on organ and the programme leans heavily into Bach’s organ repertory: three chorale preludes and the G minor Fantasia and Fugue sit beside the Sinfonia from Cantata BWV 29.
That opening Sinfonia is already Bach’s reworking of the Prelude from his E-major violin Partita, giving Loussier a transformation with a transformation built in.
