Before making The Bridge, Brussels pianist Olivier Collette spent time in New York studying with Kenny Werner and Fred Hersch.

Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas brasileiras No. 5 is an especially apt choice for an album called The Bridge: the series itself joins Bach’s musical language to Brazilian popular and traditional music.
